Nearly 40% of Nova Scotians don’t feel like homeownership is within reach right now.
And honestly, that tracks with a lot of the conversations happening lately.
Between rising home prices, stricter mortgage qualification requirements, and overall affordability concerns, a lot of buyers are feeling stuck before they even start the process.
That said, uncertainty doesn’t automatically mean buying a home is off the table; it just means the strategy matters more than it used to.
The buyers having the most success right now tend to be the ones approaching things a bit more intentionally:
• understanding financing early
• knowing what’s realistic for their budget
• staying flexible on timelines or location
• and having a clear plan before jumping in
People are still buying homes every day in Nova Scotia. The process just looks a little different from what it did a few years ago.
